Green Commute Initiative

Green Commute

Save up to 47% on your new bike by using the Green Commute Initiative.

The Green Commute Initiative are a not-for-profit social enterprise, the UK’s industry-leading cycle to work scheme with no £1,000 limit. Established in 2016, GCI’s vision is to get commuters out of cars and onto any kind of bike, with the dual purpose of improving both the individual’s health and wellbeing, as well as reducing the environmental impact of pollution and congestion from cars.

As a not-for-profit, the Green Commute Initiative put their efforts into getting more commuters cycling and  supporting independent bike shops. They are passionate about E-bikes, believing they are the future of commuter travelling. Green Commute Initiative is HMRC compliant and FCA authorised and regulated for consumer hire.

Massive thank you to Patrick for sorting me out with a bike fit, even though I... didn't buy the bike from him. I state that because certain other bike shops in my area refused to due to this. Took it out for a run this evening and I can't believe the difference it's made! I feel more upright, relaxed and comfortable. Up hill climbs are easier also due to cleat adjustments, and I can now put down more power. Such a nice guy and so knowledgeable too. My bike will definitely be going to him for all future maintenance and upgrades, and my next bike will certainly be from there. Just need to convince my wife I need 2 bikes!!read more

I know nothing about bikes and I'm out of shape. like others have mentioned... I've been to some proper independent bike shops and more or less been turned around and told where Halfords was with a bit of a sneer. well I came to PAC, and had a quick chat with Pat, told him what I wanted the bike to do and within half an hour he came back to me with the Raleigh motus ebike. its the easiest, most pleasant bike I've ever ridden. the build quality, the snappy gear changes, the simple computer and comfortable ride all bring it together. Pat and Josh really know what they're doing and the experience shines through. despite not being a 'proper cyclist I've always felt welcome here and I have absolute faith in these guys and what they can do and what they know. 10/10 would definitely get my next bike from more

I’ve already spent three decades riding bikes!

It’s sparked a passion to open my own bike shop and create a place to meet and help like-minded enthusiasts.

Peak Ascent Cycles is about sharing my love for all things cycling. It’s an opportunity to give back what cycling has given to me over the years.

I’ve created this article which gives a brief overview of my cycling journey.
